Sophie’s World

Jostein Gaarder, 1991

Fantastic novel that serves as an introduction to philosophy through the story of a fourteen-year-old girl with a Carolesque ending. Focuses heavily on Greek thought in the first half read. Uses the child to deploy the Socratic method and Socratic irony.
